Frozen Time
In Ella Mai’s music video, water and fire form tableaux in which movement appears to stand still. Visual effects bring these suspended moments to life.
The music video
The context
The music video centres on one idea: capturing action mid-movement. Working entirely in post-production, we give these moments a tangible presence while preserving their visual balance.
The challenge
A tight deadline calls for quick artistic decisions. Daily discussions with the director in Los Angeles help refine the shots and keep the work aligned.
The creative approach
We combine CGI, VFX and AI tools on selected shots, retaining control over every element. Water and fire are matched to the lighting and composition to sustain the illusion of suspended time.
The outcome
The effects blend into the tableaux and remain true to the director’s vision. They strengthen the images without overpowering them.
